Do you know Alex ferguson was once a player?

Sir Alex Ferguson is set to send a
Manchester United team to his former club
Dunfermline for a fund-raising match to
help the financially stricken Scottish side,
according to the BBC.
The Pars' are in serious financial trouble, and were
told on Friday that Her Majesty's Revenue and
Customs is set to serve the club a winding-up
order.
But Ferguson has offered to send his team up to
Dunfermline to help raise money to keep the
Scottish Division One club in business.
Former Dunfermline manager and director Jim
Leishman said about Ferguson: "He is a very busy
man but he is a true fan. We've to go and speak
to him to see if he can come up with something."
Ferguson played for Dunfermline between 1964
and 1967, and the BBC report claims the fund-
raising match idea came from a former-Pars
teammate of the Manchester United manager.
Roy Barry, who played alongside Ferguson, was at
Old Trafford recently, and the United boss
suggested a friendly game at East End Park to
help out his former club.
Goodwill gestures from Dunfermline rivals Raith
Rovers and Cowdenbeath were also offered, and a
statement on the Dunfermline website thanked
the clubs for their support "in our hour of need."
The Scottish club are currently in takeover talks
between interested parties and majority
shareholder Gavin Masterton.
Ferguson enjoyed his best goalscoring record at
East End Park, scoring 66 goals in 89 league
matches for the Pars.
The forward-turned-United manager eventually
moved on to Rangers in 1967 - and spent two
years with the Scottish giants before switching to
Falkirk and finally Ayr United.
