Bishop Dag Heward Mills to Send missionaries to the USA

For decades U.S. churches have sent Christian
missionaries to Africa. The Center for the Study of
Global Christianity reports the United States sent
in 2010 127,000 ofthe world's estimated 400,000 missionaries. Brazil
sent the second most with 34,000.
An African mega-church pastor and international
evangelist, however, wants to reverse that trend
and send missionaries to the United States.
Author, pastor and worldwide ministry leader
Bishop Dag Heward-Mills told Christian Press News
during the National Religious Broadcasters
convention in Nashville, Tenn that he has a global
vision and America is an important part of the
world.
"We'll be coming here bringing the Gospel and a
message of loyalty and faithfulness," Heward-Mills
said. "Faithfulness to God's will and His Word and
faithfulness and loyalty in the church. We're
coming to American with that powerful message."
The Ghanaian native said the Church has strayed
from the main message of Jesus, specifically
Christ's life, death and resurrection. He further
claims the American church has lost its zeal and
passion for non-believers.
"The main work of the church is to bring people
to Jesus. I don't think we are doing that,"
Heward-Mills said. "We are basically teaching
people how to have a good life, how to be happy,
have good families, how to prosper, how to be
secure and how to be safe. No one obviously who
has been taught such ideals wants to give up
their life and go to the ends of the earth. No on
wants to go out of the way to do that because it
is contrary to what many churches are teaching."
He further contends the Church has become a
business. While Heward-Mills says a corporate
church structure isn't simply American problem,
but because of the influence of American
Christian television that sort of message is heard
more around the world.
"Someone might say the something in Zambia,
but it will never be heard," Heward-Mills added.
As the author of 73 books distributed worldwide,
Pastor Heward-Mills also leads a worldwide
ministry and presides as Bishop of Lighthouse
Chapel International, with almost 1,300 churches
spread across the globe in Europe, Africa, Asia,
the Caribbean and Australia, including 63
churches in 24 U.S. states. Heward-Mills attracts
thousands at his evangelistic outreaches called
the "Healing Jesus Crusades" throughout Africa
and other emerging countries and leads a myriad
of various endeavors, including a Medical Missions
Team, Bible training centers, schools, a hospital
and orphanage and church leader conferences.
Heward-Mills considers "loyalty" a critical
component missing in the modern church. It's
what he calls "that permeating attitude of
faithfulness and authenticity which stands as the
very foundation of discipleship."
In his newest book and first book published in the
U.S., entitled Loyalty and Disloyalty (February
2013, Carpenter's Son Publishing), Heward-Mills
shares how understanding the dynamics of heart-
attitudes can lead to a successful ministry of
saving souls for Christ -- bringing spiritual health
and growth -- or, in contrast, lead to strife,
derision, a spirit of contempt and even ministry
collapse.
"The Lord has laid on my heart the relevance and
profound importance of this subject," Heward-
Mills explains. "First, the Scriptures are replete
with detailed accounts of faithful and treacherous
people." Everyone can and should learn from
them, he says.
"Secondly, my twenty years in the ministry have
brought me face to face with loyal and disloyal
people." He then shares how he has seen both
the positive impact and destructive power they
have brought to churches and ministries. And
that's why, he explains, pastors cannot
underestimate the importance of this teaching.
Four more books in the Loyalty and Disloyalty
series -- all discussing the dynamics of healthy
church growth -- are scheduled to follow this first
release.
"Only through God's undeserved grace can I
share my passion to see His Church flourish,"
Heward-Mills confides. "Through His guidance, I
want to give other pastors a chance to get on
board and experience the blessings that
authentic loyalty can truly bring."
