ASUU, the matters Arising

If ASUU are refusing to call off the strike why can't Jonathan just disband and proscribe the union? This nonsense has to stop, I knw jonathan has a fault in all these but for god sake he has offered to pay these associations of hypocrites called ASUU the allowances they are demanding. I heard ASUU said NANs is not supporting their cause, oh ho, when has ASUU ever supported the plight of students by going on strike in any institution in Nigeria, I have never heard ASUU protest against incessant increment in student fees, are these lecturers not the ones behind the prescription of most SUGs in Nigerian universities? How dare they said Nigerian students don't support their cause, for all I care they can all be sacked and new lecturers employed so far as we can all resume. All I am saying is that since Jonathan says the current demands of ASUU was not captured in the 2013 budget, but they will insert it into the 2014 budget and yet ASUU are not bulging and have even pulled out of all negotiations, I think ASUU are behaving like a spoilt child and the FG should not hessitate in weilding the cane on ASUU. We cannot all afford this strike to continue. The whole world is moving, we should not be left behind. If ASUU are not hypocrites let them accept the current deal and atleast suspend the strike, the strike is almost a semester long, enuf is enuf, and uncle Joe too should make haste to appoint a new minister of education, at this critical times we can't afford to be without one. If ASUU are demanding 800 billion for infrastructure which according to the FG was not part of the approved budget, even if the FG borrow the money and paid ASUU, won't polytechnics also go on strike? And then colleges of educations? Giving ASUU all their demands NOW is nly going to create or start a chain on demands on the FG which the government may in the long run not be able to cope with. Well at this juncture, permit me to say Amandla Awetu which means "Nothing shall discourage us" the struggle continues.

Fellaini : This is my Dream

The 25-year-old brought his five-year spell at Everton
to an end by telling them he wanted to leave and
became Moyes' first major signing for United right at
the end of the transfer window.
Fellaini has cost £27.5 million -- almost double the
£16 million United valued him at when submitting a
joint, £28 million bid for the midfielder and left-back
Leighton Baines last month.
It was £4 million also more than the £23.5 million
release clause Fellaini had at Goodison Park, which
expired at the end of July and which United had
opted not to activate.
The Belgian forced through the move by submitting a
transfer request at Everton's Finch Farm training
ground on Monday evening.
His arrival follows a summer-long search for a central
midfielder from Moyes, who failed in attempts to
recruit Cesc Fabregas and Thiago Alcantara from
Barcelona and Daniele de Rossi from Roma, and who
suffered disappointment as a move for Athletic
Bilbao's Ander Herrera collapsed.
Everton allowed Fellaini to leave as they brought in
Wigan's James McCarthy, on a £12.5 million deal,
and Manchester City's Gareth Barry, on a season-long
loan, as replacements.
Fellaini remains Everton's club record signing and
cost £15 million when he joined from Standard Liege
in 2008.
He went on to score 33 goals in 177 games for the
Merseysiders and appeared in all four of their fixtures
this season.
He and Baines were praised for their attitude and
performances over recent weeks by new Everton
manager Roberto Martinez before Fellaini said he
wanted to end his time at Everton.
However, Everton succeeded in keeping England
international Baines
at Goodison Park after reportedly rejecting a £15
million bid from United on the final day of the
transfer window.
Moyes' only previous signing for United was
Uruguayan full-back Guillermo Varela. Culled from espnfc.com

Nick Gilronan, Brooklyn's Smallest PenisContest Winner, Says He's Proud Of Victory

Nick Gilronan must have big you-know-whats.
The 27-year-old UPS Store worker who won
Brooklyn's smallest penis contest said he's proud of
his puny package.
"The size of a man's penis does not matter for who he
is as a person or in a relationship," he told Gothamist
after his victory Saturday at Kings County Bar.
Gilronan told the website he wanted to "put on a
good show for the audience. Looks like my efforts
were successful."
According to the New York Post, a crowd of about 100
watched New York City native Gilronan match
members with five other contestants, including a 55-
year-old from Minnesota who called himself "Rip van
Dinkle."
The competition included a swimwear round of
"skimpy mesh mankinis" and a Q&A, the Post wrote.
Gilronan was proclaimed the champ and the recipient
of $200 as someone sang Elton John's "Tiny Dancer."
"I'm hoping this will look brave to guys who have
self-esteem issues and make them feel better about
themselves," he said, according to the tabloid.
In a previous Huffington Post report, one of the
event's promoters dubbed the contest as "a pageant
for confident people with a sense of humor."
Gilronan's triumph perhaps illustrates that size does
indeed matter -- at least, when it comes to self-
esteem. Culled from huffpost.com

North Korea's Despotic Leader Publicly Executes ex girlfriend.

On August 8th, North Korean leader Kim Jong-un was
in the audience to applaud his ex-girlfriend Hyon
Song- wol (right), a singer with the Unhasu National
Orchestra. 9 days later a group of artists were
arrested for allegedly making a Compromizing Video.
His ex was one of them. They were publicly executed
by firing squad on August 20th, while their fam
ilies were condemned to a labor camp.
The North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un ordered the
public execution of his ex-girlfriend Hyon Song- wol,
accused of 'Indecency' with a group of artists from
the National Orchestra of Unhasu, which his current
wife Ri Sol -ju also once belonged to. The arrest took
place on August 17, the execution took place in
public three days later. According to the indictment
the women filmed themselves Being Intimate and
then sold the videos in China. Some South Korean
sources claim that there were many Christians
among those sentenced to death who had a Bible at
home, a "crime" that you can pay for with your life or
imprisonment in a state gulag in North Korea.[/color]
Those shot to death include Mun Kyong -jin, director
of the Unhasu orchestra, some singers and dancers of
Wangjaesan Light Music Band and some army
musicians. All family members of the women
involved were sentenced to forced labor. According to
the Juche ( the delusional state doctrine conceived by
the " father of the nation " Kim Il -sung ) is not
enough to punish those guilty of a crime, but it is
necessary to eradicate the evil " for three
generations . " Every year, on the basis of this
principle, thousands of children are born in labor
camps and live there until their death.
The "Young Marshal " Kim Jong-un , the third son and
heir of the "dear leader" Kim Jong -il, met Hyon about
ten years ago . After a brief "official" relationship, the
engagement was broken by the father of the dictator
and the singer was given in marriage to a military
man, while the "third Kim " met his present wife .
According to various sources, the two have continued
to see each other even after their marriages. The
public execution is thus seen as a victory of the
"Companion" Ri, who gave two sons to the current
dictator and wants to ensure their survival in one of
the most cruel dynasties in today's world.
On 8 August, the dictator took part in a concert
performed by the now decimated orchestra. The
execution is viewed by some analysts as a sign of
affirmation of his power: " Kim Jong-un is cruelly
eliminating anyone who might be a threat to his rule,
anyone who can defy authority. Public executions are
silencing anyone who even thinks of undermining
him .

ASUU strike and President Jonathan- Issues Arising

Jonathan is saying there is no money to meet Asuu's
needs, yet it is common knowledge he secured a 1
billion dollars loan from China not long ago, on a daily
basis, Nigeria generates billions of naira from the sale
of crude oil alone ,yet no money to develop
infrastructure in our Universities, I heard our minister
of finance is harvard trained, well, the status quo of the
economy has not changed ever since she was
appointed, infact things are actually getting worst,
because if an economy as big as Nigeria's cannot give
800 billion naira to develop infrastructure in our public
universities then something is wrong with the handlers
of our economy, in a world were land mark researches
and discoveries are being conducted in universities all
over the world, ours over here have been reduced to
mere advanced primary schools, yet we have a leader
who claimed before the last election that he's a youth
and have the interest of the youths at heart, now we
know better. Initially, one might be angry with ASUU for
going on strikes too much, but really is there any other
option! Cos our leaders are insensitive to the plight of
the very ones who elected them into office, I was
shocked when I heard that at a time both universities
and polytechnics in the country were on strike, the so
called honourable minister of state for education led a
delegation of about 10 lazybodies and fellow idle
Men of his caliber to visit the rivers state house of assembly
member hit with a mace recuperating in a london hospital, I repeat when the universities
and polytechnics were on strike, how ridiculous can u
be! The minister of education who should be running helter skether to see that the strike debacle is resolved is busy globetrotting the world on insignificant courtesy visits. There are things we have refused to get right in
this country even though we know what to do, but we
are asked to pray, but I don't think it is prayer that will
heal our leaders of their insensitivity, greed and
avarice, I think we the citizenry as well have a role to
play, not least of these roles is voting out PDP in the
next elections, because frankly speaking, PDP has been
in power since 1999 and almost every sector of the
economy from that time has gone worse, its time in
2015 another party takes the helm of affairs of Nigeria.
May God help us.

RCCG plans to build New Auditorium

Nigeria's largest church, the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), on Saturday said it would build a 3-km auditorium.
Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of RCCG, made the disclosure during the Holy Ghost Service at the Redemption Camp in Mowe area of southwest Ogun State.
The Holy Ghost Service is one of the programs lined up for the 61st Annual Convention of the church.
Adeboye said the new auditorium to be built at the mission's camp ground at the section of km 46 on Lagos-Ibadan expressway would also be 3-km wide.
The cleric said the existing auditorium built in 2000 with a capacity of 1 million people could no longer accommodate people attending service in millions.
The project will be completed before the 62nd Convention in August 2014.
He solicited for donations from members to make the project a reality.
The convention continues on Saturday with the anointing service and will end on Sunday with the ordination of pastors. Culled from globaltimes.cn

Just thinking

Why is it that as busy as lagos ibadan expressway is (probably the most busiest in Nigeria ) most times there's not a single frsc official directing traffic, neither any paramilitary outfit to maintain order, because some drivers can be so disorderly! A two lane road may become 5 lanes at times, and everything would be so rowdy and frustrating. At times a vehicle may collapse on the road and instead of a towing vehicle to tow it off ! It would be allowed to stay there thereby leading to heavy traffic and gridlock on the way. I fathom that since majority of our politicians don't even ply the roads they see no reason to enforce order on the road. Last year when president Jonathan came to the redemption camp, hardly can you drive 100 metres without you coming across a police checkpoint. But when he's not coming! No check point, may God help us !

The Mystery of smiling

Below are some of the stuffs I got about smiling from the internet, pls take time to go through it.
1. Smiling Makes Us Attractive
We are drawn to people who smile. There is an
attraction factor. We want to know a smiling person
and figure out what is so good. Frowns, scowls and
grimaces all push people away -- but a smile draws
them in (avoid these smile aging habits to keep
your smile looking great).
2. Smiling Changes Our Mood
Next time you are feeling down, try putting on a
smile. There's a good chance you mood will change
for the better. Smiling can trick the body into
helping you change your mood.
3. Smiling Is Contagious
When someone is smiling they lighten up the room,
change the moods of others, and make things
happier. A smiling person brings happiness with
them. Smile lots and you will draw people to you.
4. Smiling Relieves Stress
Stress can really show up in our faces. Smiling
helps to prevent us from looking tired, worn down,
and overwhelmed. When you are stressed, take
time to put on a smile. The stress should be
reduced and you'll be better able to take action.
5. Smiling Boosts Your Immune System
Smiling helps the immune system to work better.
When you smile, immune function improves
possibly because you are more relaxed. Prevent the
flu and colds by smiling.
6. Smiling Lowers Your Blood Pressure
When you smile, there is a measurable reduction in
your blood pressure. Give it a try if you have a
blood pressure monitor at home. Sit for a few
minutes, take a reading. Then smile for a minute
and take another reading while still smiling. Do you
notice a difference?
7. Smiling Releases Endorphins, Natural Pain Killers
and Serotonin
Studies have shown that smiling releases
endorphins, natural pain killers, and serotonin.
Together these three make us feel good. Smiling is
a natural drug.
8. Smiling Lifts the Face and Makes You Look
Younger
The muscles we use to smile lift the face, making a
person appear younger. Don't go for a face lift, just
try smiling your way through the day -- you'll look
younger and feel better.
